New legal information from across Ontario

Supporting survivors of abuse after they separate

Luke’s Place has a resource to help people support survivors of abuse after they separate from their abusers. Supporting After Separation helps the family and friends of a survivor:

understand the impact that violence has on a family
communicate with the survivor in a healthy and effective way
help the survivor understand and deal with family law issues

Sponsoring a spouse or partner for PR status

Connecting Ottawa has a set of tipsheets to help people fill out online forms on Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada’s Permanent Residence (PR) Portal.

Some tip sheets are for people sponsoring their spouse or common-law partner to apply for PR status. The other tip sheets are for the sponsored spouse or common-law partner.

The tips sheets are:

Tips for completing the application to sponsor, sponsorship agreement and undertaking (IMM1344) as a sponsor
